Since 2013–14, Gramin Vikas Sewa Samiti (GVSS) has been successfully implementing the Link Worker Scheme (LWS) in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (UPSACS).

Condom Promotion and Distribution
• 22,405 free condoms were distributed through Link Workers and community events.
Outreach and Service Coverage
The project achieved 74% coverage of the total line-listed individuals through direct outreach (group and one-to-one interactions). Out of these, 69% accessed clinical services and 65% underwent HIV testing during the year, reflecting strong field linkages and community trust.
Village Covered 2025
The program focuses on addressing HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and linkage to care services across 100 villages in District Basti.

Executive Summary
This report presents a summary of HIV programme progress under the Link Worker Scheme (LWS) for the period of April 2024 to March 2025. It provides key achievements across various target typologies, including Female Sex Workers (FSW), Injecting Drug Users (IDU), Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), Transgender (TG), Migrant populations, Truckers, Other Vulnerable Populations, TB cases, ANC clients, and People Living with HIV (PLHIV).

Key Achievements
- Overall coverage among HRGs was 100%, while coverage among Migrant and Other-Vulnerable populations ranged from 61–71%.
- Total of 10 HIV-positive cases were detected and all were linked with ART services.
- 785 individuals were diagnosed and treated for STIs, while 624 were screened for syphilis.
- 22,405 condoms were distributed free of cost during the reporting month.
Key Observations
- All High-Risk Groups achieved 100% contact and clinical coverage.
- Migrant and Trucker populations showed lower clinical coverage (61–68%).
- HIV positivity remains low among all typologies, indicating effective prevention outreach.
- Condom distribution continues to be high, ensuring accessibility among HRGs.
Way Forward
- Strengthen HIV testing among Migrant and Trucker populations.
- Enhance ART linkage follow-up for PLHIV identified under LWS.
- Sustain high coverage of preventive services including condom promotion and STI screening.
