Jal Jeevan Mission "Har Ghar Jal"
Since the year 2022, Gramin Vikas Sewa Samiti has been implementing the Har Ghar Jal Project under the Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural) in Ayodhya district. The project operates under the guidance of the District Project Management Unit (DPMU) and the Executive Engineer, Jal Jeevan Mission (Rural), Ayodhya, with technical and administrative support from the State Water and Sanitation Mission (SWSM), Uttar Pradesh.
The mission aims
To ensure the supply of safe, clean, and adequate drinking water to every rural household, thereby improving the overall quality of life in rural communities.
Community Participation and Monitoring
• 12,763 Village Water & Sanitation Committees (VWSCs) have been formed for decentralized operation and management.
Special Recognition
• Mehdauna village in Ayodhya district has been recognized as a “Swachh Sujal Gaon” for achieving 100% clean drinking water access for all households.
“Har Ghar Jal” Villages
• Out of 1,188 total villages, 1,013 have been declared “Har Ghar Jal.”
• Among these, 340 villages have been officially certified through Gram Sabha resolutions.
Community Participation and Monitoring
• 9,061 users are actively engaged in the operation and maintenance of village water supply systems.
